Facts about Bull Dogs

A bulldog is also known by English Bulldog or British Bulldog; however, it should never be misunderstood for American Bulldog or French Bulldog, which are altogether different breeds of dogs but have similar appearances. A bulldog typically is characterized by its broad head and the proportionate shoulders. Majority of the bulldogs are used for sports and show dogs due to its sweet-tempered nature.



Bulldogs have descended from Mastiff breeds of dogs but their temperament and personalities do not generally match with the fighting spirits of Mastiffs. For a standard bulldog, the weight should be around 45 pounds in USA and around 55 pounds in UK and Europe. Generally friendly and loving type of bulldogs are also known to occasionally display agility and courage. All over the world, Bulldogs are famous for its tenacity and reliability and that is why, they are the most favored breeds of companion dogs for the family. Moreover, several sports teams, college teams, army battalions and groups have chose Bulldogs as their Mascot or Logo.
