Facts about Collie Dogs

Coolie or Koolie is an Australian breed of dogs and it is often by the name Australian Coolie or German Coolie। Coolie is essentially a herding dog or a working dog that has been bred in Australia for thousands of years for working in the farms. Although coolie has originated from Australia, the diversity of the breed changes from country to country and even in specific regions of the same country. For instance, in New South Wales and Queensland, you will find tall and medium-built coolie dogs while in hunter valley regions of Australia, the breed is slightly smaller.

Coat of collie varies from small to medium and it is generally very smooth or sometimes glossy and colors are generally all solid colors including black, red and chocolate. Temperament of coolie dogs are generally controlled by the breeders as per the requirement and therefore, for most of the coolie dogs, the temperament suit working dogs. Generally, the temperaments are selected in such a way as to have a perfect balance of its working ability and courage required need for protection of herds and cattle.
