Facts about Dogs Dachshund Breed Information and Dachshund Puppies Pictures

Dachshund is from the hound family and comes in three varieties short-haired, wired-haired and long-haired. It is a short-legged and elongated breed of dog. Dachshund is also known by other names such as Doxie, Sausage Dog, Worshond Dog, Weenie Dog, Wiener Dog, Dackel or Teckel. They originate from Germany and were developed to prey burrow-dwelling animals such as badgers and rabbits. by using their peculiar characteristics of scent, chase and flush. All the three varieties of Dachshund Dogs come in three different sizes.





The body of Dachshund is longer than its height and the legs are short and muscular. They have an elongated head with slightly convex skull and protruding eyebrows. The muzzle is long with robust jaw and non-pendent lips. Eyes are dark red or brown-black and almond shaped. The coat comes in many colors such as solid black, red, chocolate, tan, fawn, golden blonde, platinum and grayish blue. Wired haired Dachshund dogs resemble terriers in appearance and also display similar characteristics. Fully grown standard Dachshund dog weighs between 7-13 kg whereas the miniature type weighs about 5 kg.

Facts about Dogs Collie Breed Information and Collie Puppies Pictures

Collie is a large and strong breed of herding types of dogs from Britain. Collie, active and agile breed of dogs comes in different types such as Smooth collie, Scottish Coolie, Rough Collie and Border collie. They originate from the upland areas of the south and west regions of Britain. Coolie is a lean, fairly light-built dog with pointed snout with distinctive white pattern over the shoulders. Collie can be found in many parts of the world including the united States and Australia.





Coolies have been developed in variety of types, sometimes as a mix breed, some of which remain as working dogs or herding dogs for herding cattle, sheep and other livestock, whereas some are used as pets, sports dogs and for dog shows. The term Collie is generally applied Rough Coolie in many parts of the United States or Border coolie in the rural areas of Great Britain. Some of the Collie types of dogs are simply known by the first name without adding Collie, say Border or Bearded. Coolie weight about 10-25 kg and have a lean body with partly erect ears giving them fox like appearance. The coat may be short, flat or long and comes in black, red, black and tan, sable and red and tan.
