Bichon Frise is a breed of small Bichon type dogs that have originated in Spain, Belgium and Canada. Similar in appearance but little larger than Maltese, Bichon Frise is one of the most popular pets and companions because it is a non-shedding type of dog and people with allergies find it an extremely good choice for pets. Bichon Frise has descended from Water Spaniels and Standard Poodle breeds of dogs. Bichon Frise is a small dog that weighs around 5-10 kg and stands tall at 9-12 inches at withers. It has a small black nose, round dark eyes, white curly outer coat and a silky under coat. Many species have less curly outer coat. The body is compact with proportionate head and legs. Bichon Frise is an intelligent dog with cheerful, gentle, sensitive, playful and affectionate temperament. The average lifespan of Bichon Frise is 12-13 years.
